Northshore Education Consortium (NEC)

Since 1975, NEC’s mission has been to support member districts by offering high quality, cost-effective school programs, consultation, professional development, support services and resources. We aim to ensure that districts can provide successful learning experiences for all students, including those with complex or low-incidence special needs.

Programs Available

Embark Transition Program

The Embark Transition Program is located on the campus of Salem State University so that young adult students can experience the benefits of campus navigation while developing life and career skills such as travel training, paid internships, study skills, organizational skills and independent soc

Kevin O’Grady School

Kevin O’Grady School provides intensive services for students with multiple disabilities in four distinct programs. The Foundations program is an integrated pre-school program. The Access program is for students with complex medical needs and multiple disabilities.

Northshore Academy Lower School

Northshore Academy Lower School serves students who benefit from a small classroom with fully integrated clinical and behavioral support services. All students are in self-contained classrooms with fewer than 10 students.

Northshore Academy Upper School

Northshore Academy provides educational services for students with average to above average cognitive and academic abilities who are struggling with emotional and psychiatric disabilities, anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and autism spectrum disorders.

Northshore Recovery High School

Recovery High Schools are public high schools where students earn a diploma while they are supported in their recovery from alcohol and drug use. tudents who attend Northshore Recovery High School have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder. They may or may not have other disabilities.
